The Basic Issues in Zoning course is available to public officials and practitioners who are interested in learning about zoning. The zoning ordinance is one of the most imporant tools for implementing the comprehensive plan. This course is available for you to access and complete at anytime that is convenient for you.
This course is perfect for public officials, including planning commissioners, board of zoning appeals members, township trustees, county commissioners, and city council members. This course is also appropriate for professionals that are new to zoning or interact with zoning professionals. This course introduces the basics of zoning, including the legal basis of zoning, types of zoning, variances, planned unit developments, conditional use permits and nonconforming uses.
Course presenters include Peggy Hall an attorney with OSU Extension, Ken Pearlman a professor of planning law in the City and Regional Planning program at OSU and Jennifer Evans-Cowley a professor of planning practice in the City and Regional Planning Program at OSU.
The price for this course is $50.
Upon completion of this course you will receive a certificate of completion. This course qualifies for 2 hours of AIA Continuing Education Credit. This course qualifies for 2 hours of Kentucky planning continuing education credit. This courses may qualify for Tennesee Continuing Education Credit, contact your employer to find out.
