Austin E. Knowlton School of Architecture

Bachelor of Science in Architecture program

Bachelor of Science in Architecture leads to a four-year pre-professional undergraduate degree. The curriculum combines a general liberal arts education with concentrated studies in architecture. As such, students receive a rigorous intellectual training in the sciences, the humanities, and the arts, as well as a direct, hands-on approach to synthesizing this knowledge in the architectural design studios. The Bachelor of Science in Architecture instills a broad cultural awareness and, most significantly, the ability to act upon this awareness. The undergraduate degree provides the student with a strong educational foundation for not only the profession itself but also for the other arts, business, and public service. Students who desire professional architectural registration will be required to study for an additional two years to receive a National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) accredited Master of Architecture degree. Admission to the program is selective.
